Abstract

Several localities of geological interest in northeast Langkawi are described. A new stratigraphic nomenclature is introduced based on observations on Pulau Langgun. The Kilim brachiopod beds provide clues to a glacial event during the Late Palaeozoic, and indicate close proximity of Langkawi to the super continent Gondwana during that time.
