The cosmeceutical industry has experienced rapid growth with the introduction of various innovative formulations that integrate therapeutic and cosmetic elements for skin care and regeneration purposes. One controversial therapeutic approach involves the use of menstrual blood as an active ingredient in experimental studies related to cellular regeneration and skin rejuvenation, as well as the direct application of menstrual blood to the face, commonly referred to as moon masking, for cosmetic enhancement. Despite scientific claims regarding its potential therapeutic benefits, this approach raises significant concerns from the Islamic legal and ethical perspectives, particularly related to purity, impurity (najāsah), and compliance with the principles of halālan tayyiban. Therefore, this article aims to evaluate therapeutic approaches based on menstrual blood from the perspective of Islamic cosmeceuticals. This study adopts a qualitative methodology through a literature review of classical and contemporary fiqh sources, scientific studies, and current fatwa opinions. The findings indicate that the use of menstrual blood-derived substances poses conflicts concerning the legal status of impurity, the dignity of the human body, and consumer safety. Consequently, adherence to the principles of halal, cleanliness, and non-maleficence should remain a primary consideration in the development of Islamic cosmeceutical products.
